Peg. Protests were held near the local Netaji Chowk on Sunday, under the leadership of Mahila Morcha, demanding a ban on incidents of misconduct with girls and women in the state. Chairing the program, District President of BJP Chandrashekhar Gupta said that women are not safe even in the state of Hemant government. He said that the state government has completely failed to provide protection to women and girls.
Former District President Kashinath Mahato said that ever since the coalition government came into the state, there has been a huge increase in criminal incidents in Jharkhand. District vice-president Sanjay Sahu said that the manner in which girls are being victimized in the state is a matter of concern for any civilized society. He said that the state government has no moral right to remain in power. District Vice President Shashank Sher Rai, General Minister Vinod Nag, Jyotish Bhagat, Bhim Sahu, Madan Gop, etc. were present on the occasion.
