An official of the regional weather forecasting center said, “Light to moderate rains are likely to occur in Kolkata and other parts of South Bengal by October 20. Rainfall may increase from October 21. Rain is more likely between October 22 to 24. .
He said that there is a possibility of rain in North Bengal also during the festival. A low pressure area is likely to form over the Bay of Bengal around 19 October. It can then accelerate. It is expected to move towards Odisha and Andhra Pradesh. Due to this, heavy rains can occur, which will continue for the next full week. Meanwhile, the maximum temperature in Kolkata today is 35.5 degrees Celsius, which is 3 degrees above normal. The minimum temperature is 25.9 ° C, one degree above normal.
It is noteworthy that Navratri has started in the whole country from today. Durga Puja will be celebrated from 23 October to 26 October. But from October 19, the festival and pandal excursion will begin. Due to the Durga Puja in West Bengal, the state is recognized all over the world.
