Thiruvananthapuram, 17 October (IANS). An angiography of suspended Kerala IAS officer M. Shivshankar on Saturday revealed that he did not have any cardiac problems. However on Sunday he will be kept under medical supervision for 24 hours before being discharged.

These former Principal Secretaries of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan were taken to the hospital on Friday night when the customs officials visited their residence and questioned them about the smuggling of gold.

It was earlier said that he was not taken to the hospital but was expected to take him to the customs office.

Let me tell you that after the case of smuggling of gold on July 5, the IAS officer has been questioned by the Customs and Enforcement Directorate.

He was asked to appear before the customs on Friday, but after he stated that he was unwell, the customs officer went to his residence. When officers started taking him for questioning, Shivshankar claimed that he was unwell. He was then taken to the hospital.

While acting on the anticipatory bail plea of Shivshankar, the Kerala High Court ordered the ED not to arrest him until he has heard the petition in detail.

In this sense, Sunday will be an important day for Shiv Shankar, if he is discharged on Sunday, all eyes will be on customs as the court has only prohibited the ED from arresting him.
