Guwahati. The process of education will start in the schools and colleges of the state in the coming November. At the same time, only three categories of exams will be conducted. These things were stated by the Minister of State for Education, Health, Finance etc. while addressing a press conference held in the Secretariat on Saturday. Education Minister said that only 20 to 25 students in a class will be able to join the studies. If the class is large then the number of students can be increased. He said that this time the curriculum of schools will also be shortened. He also said that this time only the eighth, tenth and twelfth examinations will be conducted. The eighth examinations will be conducted by the school. Students of other categories will be passed without examination.
He said that no decision will be taken by the state government to open the school. Dr. Vishwasharma said that polytechnic and engineering educational institutions will open from 02 November. However, hostels will remain closed for one month of commencement. Decisions can be taken to open hostels from the month of December if required. He spoke of continuing the online studies of Engineering-Polytechnic. He informed that undergraduate first semester will be studied on Monday and Thursday. The third semester will be taught on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. Similarly, the fifth semester will be taught on Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.
The Education Minister made several important announcements in the context of opening of schools. He said that education up to class five will not be done in schools. Class VI will be taught in schools. Similarly, studies in schools will be in two phases. Schools will open from 08 am. In the first phase from 08.30 am to 12.30 pm and in the second phase from 01,30 am to 04.30 pm. Every day, 50 percent students will be able to attend classes in the first phase and 50 percent in the second phase.
