Ahmedabad. The Congress has suffered another major setback before the by-elections in eight seats in the Gujarat assembly. Gujarat Congress spokesman Kailasdan Gadhvi has resigned from the party.
As soon as the by-elections are announced in Gujarat, all political parties have started campaigning under the Corona guidelines. So far, BJP has also announced the names of candidates for seven seats and five seats from Congress. Meanwhile, just before the by-election on Tuesday, Congress leader and spokesperson Kailashdan Gadhvi resigned from the party alleging that loyal and old cadres were being ignored in the party.
Gadhvi accused party leaders of giving tickets to anti-party workers. Earlier on Monday, Gadhvi was angered by Congress giving ticket to Shantilal Sanghani from Abdasa seat of Kutch. After announcing his resignation from the Congress on Tuesday, Gadhvi said, “I don’t think good candidates are needed in politics.” The party has declared a candidate for Abdasa seat. So there is no point in discussing it now. Mr.Garvi said that my name was decided in the 2017 election. The party did not give me a ticket this time either. I want to rest now.
In this regard, Congress candidate from Abadasa seat Shantilal Sanghani said that I have never been active against the party. I have been with the Congress party since 1986. Pradyuman Singh Jadeja, BJP candidate and BJP from Congress, said that it is natural for a leader like Gadhvi to be angry after continuous neglect in Congress.
