Islamabad, October 17 (IANS). Security has been beefed up by PML-N supremo living in London and former Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. The move comes after Sharif gave speeches criticizing Imram Khan-led government and military intervention in political affairs.

Dawn News said in a report on Saturday that 4 local security personnel arrived at Hasan Nawaz’s office at Stanhope House. From here, the former chief addressed the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) rally in Gujarawala on Friday through video link.

Let it be said that this was the first rally of PDM, a coalition formed last month by 11 opposition parties of the country.

Dawn News reported that these privately-held security personnel remained stationed close to the office throughout the day. At the same time, private security personnel were also seen at the residence of the former leader of the Avenfiels, whose dogs were marked by the Dog Security Unit.

In addition, two guards along with Sniffer Dog were stationed on Dunrevan Street, where the Avenfield House is.

On Friday afternoon, several PTI activists led by Prime Minister Imran Khan’s spokesman Sahibzada Jahangir on trade and investment in Britain and Europe gathered outside Stanhope Place and raised anti-PML-N posters, shouting slogans against Sharif.

Jahangir told Dawn News that he had arrived at the office premises to protest against Sharif, along with 200 people, according to the UK government’s Kovid-19 protocol.
