Bhopal. Political parties continue to campaign for the by-elections in Madhya Pradesh. During an election rally on Sunday, former CM of the state Kamal Nath made derogatory remarks against BJP candidate Imrati Devi from Dabra. He used the word item for Imrati Devi without naming her. After which a political battle started in the state.
CM Shivraj Singh Chauhan announced a silent demonstration in protest against Kamal Nath’s remarks. He said, “I will perform silence tomorrow from 10 pm to 12 noon to protest against the objectionable words used by Kamal Nath for Imrati Devi. She should be ashamed of her statement.”
Scindia also protested
In protest of Kamal Nath’s remarks, BJP’s Rajya Sabha MP Jyotiraditya Scindia tweeted, “It is extremely condemnable and objectionable to call Dalit leader Imrati Devi ji an item and jalebi in Dabra today, coming from a poor and laboring family – this is the mentality of Kamal Nath It also reflects. The time has come to teach a lesson to such a crooked leader who insults the entire Dalit society as well as women. ”
