In a statement issued on Tuesday by the regional headquarters of the Meteorological Department in Alipur, it has been told that the suburban areas, besides the capital Kolkata, have been receiving continuous rains for the past several days which will continue till the weekend. Apart from the capital, heavy rains are expected in Howrah, Hooghly, North and South 24 Parganas, East and West Medinipur, Purulia, Bankura, Jhargram etc. districts.
Apart from this, Alipurduar, Cooch Behar, Jalpaiguri, Darjeeling and Kalimpong are also receiving continuous rains which will continue. Here landslides have occurred earlier due to water logging. Traffic is disrupted on most roads and people are stranded in homes. Life is already disturbed. The maximum temperature is 35.8 ° C which is normal. The minimum temperature is 26.7 degrees Celsius, one degree below normal. The increase in temperature will continue for the time being.
