Kolkata. The process of rain may continue even during Durga Puja in West Bengal. Due to the low pressure in the Bay of Bengal, the process of rain will continue in the entire state including the capital Kolkata. In a statement issued on Wednesday by the regional headquarters of the Meteorological Department in Alipur, it has been told that apart from the capital Kolkata, suburban areas have been receiving continuous rain for the past several days which will continue till Sunday.
Apart from the capital, heavy rains are expected in Howrah, Hooghly, North and South 24 Parganas, East and West Medinipur, Purulia, Bankura, Jhargram etc. districts. Apart from this, Alipurduar, Cooch Behar, Jalpaiguri, Darjeeling and Kalimpong are also receiving continuous rains which will continue.
Landsliding has also occurred due to water logging here. Traffic is disrupted on most roads and people are stranded in homes. Life is already busy. Kolkata recorded a maximum temperature of 35 degrees Celsius Wednesday, which is above normal. The minimum temperature is 27 degrees Celsius, one degree below normal. The increase in temperature will continue for the time being. Durga Puja is expected to change in the weather.
