Patna, October 13 (IANS). The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Tuesday searched the house of a man who allegedly transferred a large amount to the bank account of Ningkhan Sangatham, a self-styled chief of the NSCN (IM). Officials said the search has been conducted in connection with the investigation into the Purnia arms case.

An NIA official said the search was carried out in the house of Chandra Vijay Pratap alias Sushil and in the premises of Sanmario Medicinal (Pharmaceutical) Private Limited.

The official said that Pratap is a director of the company.

The official said that an investigation by the NIA has revealed that the absconding zonal commander Bhikhan Ganjhu of the Naxalite Gang III Presentation Committee (TPC), through an arms dealer from Bihar on behalf of Sangatham, received a huge amount of sophisticated weapons and ammunition Was supplied

During the searches, several secret documents related to monetary transactions have been seized, the official said.

In fact, on 7 February last year, the Purnia police recovered a large number of weapons from an SUV car. Three policemen were killed in this action, including Suraj Prasad, V. Kahorgam and Cleerson Cabo.

Security agencies were blown away when the grenade launcher, AK-47 rifle and 1800 cartridges were found from the vehicle.

The NIA had registered a case under the Indian Penal Code, Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act and Arms Act on 28 February 2019.

The NIA arrested four people, including Tripurari Singh, Mukesh Singh, Ningkhan Sangatam and Santosh Singh, after registering an FIR in the case. With this, a charge sheet has been filed against seven accused.
