The Congress president also targeted the government over three agricultural laws, dealing with the Kovid-19 epidemic, the state of the economy and alleged atrocities against Dalits, claiming that Indian democracy was going through its most difficult phase. The Congress President on Sunday asked the new state in-charge and general secretaries of the party to fight for the democracy of the country, as the country’s democracy is in a very difficult time. In a meeting with newly appointed party officials, Sonia Gandhi said, everyone should fight for the issues of the people and try to overcome their sufferings, because our democracy is going through the most difficult period. He asked the in-charge of the state to identify the issues which are directly related to the people and said that if it is required to fight the government, they should also do so.
The basic purpose of the Congress is to protect the interests of the people
Referring to the new laws related to farmers and increasing crimes against women, Sonia Gandhi said, “The basic objective of the Indian National Congress is to protect the interests of the people.” Even today, the service devoted to the citizens of the country and the fight against injustice, inequality and discrimination in all spheres is a light showing direction to every Congressman.
The government shook the foundation of the country’s strong agricultural economy with agricultural laws.
Sonia Gandhi stressed that this responsibility has become even more important as our democracy is going through its most difficult phase. He said that our constitution and our democratic traditions are constantly under attack. The present government of our country is ignoring the interests of our citizens for profiteering by a handful of capitalists. Accusing the BJP-led government that Sonia Gandhi said that by implementing agricultural laws, the government has shaken the foundation of the country’s strong agricultural economy.
These new laws try to take away the livelihood of farmers
The Congress chief said that these new laws related to farmers’ agriculture are black laws and this is an attempt to snatch the livelihood of the farmers. He also alleged that the government has no policy to deal with the problem of epidemic and due to the wrong policies of the government, the condition of the economy is so bad and unemployment is continuously increasing.
