Jaipur. The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Saturday arrested XEN (Executive Engineer) and AEN (Assistant Engineer) of Rajasthan Police Housing Construction Corporation Limited, while taking a bribe of Rs 1.25 lakh. This amount of bribe was sought from a contractor in lieu of passing the bill of work done in the Police Housing Corporation. Currently, the ACB team is questioning both the bribe officers.
Additional Superintendent of Anti-Corruption Bureau Chanchal Mishra said that Girraj Singh Chahar (62) resident Krishna Nagar Kalwad Road Jhotwada and Ashok Kumar Verma (54) resident Shrikalyan Nagar Kartarpura Phatak Mahesh Nagar have been arrested for taking bribe.
Accused Ashok Kumar Verma is an XEN in PWD. Currently working on deputation in Police Housing Corporation under Police Headquarters. While the other accused GS Chahar who has retired from the post of AEN in PWD. Currently, Police Housing Corporation is working in PHQ on contract. This action stirred up the PWD department.
In this regard, on September 12, a complainant, Jaikishan, complained to the bureau that the work of the construction of 35 quarters in the Seventh Battalion RAC is in progress. In payment of the bills of work, AEN Girraj Singh is demanding bribe of 2 per cent for himself, 1 per cent for XEN Ashok Kumar and 0.50 per cent for Accounts Branch which is being sought through AEN Girraj Singh Chahar.
On this complaint, ACB team conducted the trap and during verification, 68 thousand rupees were given. After which it was decided to give the amount of bribe on Saturday morning. The already prepared ACB team arrested Girraj Singh and Ashok Kumar, accused of taking bribe of Rs 1 lakh 26 thousand. The ACB team is conducting searches at the offices and homes of both the bribe-accused.
