In the letter, Payal wrote to the President, seeking justice that the investigation in this case was going on at a very slow pace.
The letter reads, Respected Sir, I am the victim and I have lodged a complaint against the accused at Versova Police Station. The accused called me to his house on the pretext of giving him work in the film industry and after that he committed heinous crime with me. I have filed a complaint on 22/09/2020, but so far no progress has been made in the investigation. The accused is a very influential person and hence the policemen are not arresting the accused. If a poor person had committed this crime, he would have been arrested immediately. I knock every door with folded hands to get justice. You are requested to intervene in my case and help me in getting justice.
Sharing the letter on Twitter, the actress wrote, “This is my letter to the Honorable President of India Ramnath Kovind.”
Payal recently met the Minister of State for Home, G. Kishan Reddy. The National Commission for Women has also raised this issue.
