The Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Kandy and the Mahindra Rajapaksa International Cricket Stadium in Hambantota are hosting all the two matches of the Lanka Premier League (LPL) 2020. The league will be held from November 21 to December 1, 2020. The draft of these players will be held on October 1, 2020. The Pallekele International Cricket Stadium, which hosts 2 Tests, 2 ODIs and 2 T20I matches, has a capacity of 35,000 spectators. The Mahinda Rajapaksa International Cricket Stadium also has a capacity of 1,000,000 spectators with 21 ODIs and T20I matches.

The last T20 match played at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium was won by the West Indies and Sri Lanka on March 6, 2020 by seven wickets in a D / N encounter.
The last T20 match was played at the Mahinda Rajapaksa International Cricket Stadium in August 2013, when hosts Sri Lanka beat South Africa by a wicket in a D / N encounter.
SLC vice-president Ravin Vikramaratne said, “The tournament will not only provide a platform for local players to develop their skills by playing with world-class players, but also give Sri Lankan cricket fans a chance to watch quality cricket matches.”
The five franchises in the Sri Lankan Premier League, Colombo, Kandy, Galle, Dambulla and Jaffna, will play 23 matches over a 15-day period to win the title.
Five franchises will be selected, including all of Sri Lanka’s key international players.
