Islamabad, October 17 (IANS). The Government of Pakistan has imposed a penalty of 100,000 Pakistani rupees on Qatar Airways for violating the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) implemented against the Kovid-19 epidemic.

According to Dawn News, Aviation Division spokesman Abdul Sattar Khokhar said in a statement on Friday that the government took serious cognizance of the violation, which put the health and safety of passengers as well as employees at the airport at risk Was put

He said that the fine has been imposed by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA).

Khokhar said that the airline would also be responsible for testing of Kovid-19 and all the expenses incurred on the quarantine of passengers and staff.

He said that one of the passengers, Kovid-19 positive person, had traveled to Islamabad on a Qatar Airways flight.

The CAA has already directed airlines flying to and from Pakistan to ensure compliance with the SOP and it has been implemented to protect passengers from the virus.
