Mumbai, 9 October (IANS) Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Governor Shaktikanta Das said on Friday that food grains production could set a new record in the country. Shaktikanta Das, while announcing the decision of the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) meeting, said that with the monsoon better and increased kharif crops, the production of food grains could set a new record.
Earlier, the RBI governor announced the MPC’s decision to hold the key interest rate repo rate at four per cent. Repo rate is the interest rate at which the central bank gives short-term loans to commercial banks. The reverse repo rate has also been retained at 3.35 per cent.
