Islamabad A painful accident took place on Sunday in the Gilgit-Baltistan area of Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK). In this accident, 16 people died, while many were injured.
Pakistani media don, quoting Kondu sub-divisional police officer (SDPO) Mohammad Hasan in his report, said that a passenger bus hit the landslide on Skardu road in Gilgit-Baltistan. In this accident, 16 people aboard the bus were killed.
Assistant Commissioner of Rondo Miraj Alam said that the bus was coming from Rawalpindi and there were 18 passengers in it. Two passengers were unloaded at their stations before the incident.
According to Radio Pakistan news, the bus was going from Rawalpindi to Sakardu, when it was hit by landslides in the Rondo area of Gilgit-Baltastan and the bus fell into a deep ditch. Landslides occur frequently in the region.

According to the report, the incident took place on Saturday night (Sunday) in the Tangos area on the Jaglot-Skardu road. As the bus was passing through this area, then a sudden landslide occurred and the bus hit it. The accident was so severe that the bus flew off and all the passengers were buried under the debris. After receiving information about the incident, a team of rescue team arrived on the spot and relief work was started.
In a statement after the rescue work was completed, SDPO Hassan said that the rescue work has been completed. Sixteen bodies have been recovered from the bus wreck. Six of them have been identified, including driver and conductor.
He said that all the bodies have been shifted to the district hospital and the road is now being cleared. Let us tell you that earlier in the beginning of September a major landslide occurred in northwest Pakistan.
At least 10 laborers were killed and eight others were injured in a landslide incident in a marble mine. The incident took place in Mohamand district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Rescue team officer Khatir Ahmed had said that 10 laborers died in the accident.
