One day after winning the match against Kolkata Knight Riders, AB de Villiers took to Twitter to follow the challenge of ‘break the beard’. The former South African batsman has tweeted a video with his followers showing off his new look. The ‘Break the Beard’ challenge has become popular on social media, including many Indian Premier League (IPL) stars. Before De Villiers, Mumbai Indians all-rounder Kieron Pollard, Hardik Pandya and KKR skipper Dinesh Karthik had accepted the challenge.
De Villiers did not nominate anyone to accept the challenge for his position but tagged some IPL rivals, including childhood friend Faf du Plessis. “Can’t wait to see who picks up the baton next,” the explosive batsman wrote.

De Villiers played a key role as RCB defeated KKR on Monday and recorded their fifth win of the season. When most of the batsmen struggled to get their feet on Sharjah’s slow wicket, de Villiers was on his tremendous performance and he quickly hit a half-century and scored an unbeaten 73 off just 33 balls.
As described by RCB skipper Virat Kohli, his “super-human innings” got him off to a slow start, scoring a total of 1/2 in 20 overs.
While chasing big runs, he fell victim to the pressure of KKR batsmen and was limited to 112 / were, so he had to face a huge defeat by 2 runs.
With this victory, RCB reached the third position and collected the same number of points between Mumbai Indians and the second ranked Delhi Capital.
In the previous match, RCB will face Kings XI Punjab in the next match.
