SRH vs KKR: Pat Cummins desperately needs to make an impact on the ball for his team.BCCI / IPL
Johnny Bairstow made a devastating comeback during the IPL 2020 match against Kings XI Punjab (KXIP). Bairstow hit bound runs off 55 balls and bound four fours and six sixes in 55 balls to help Sunrisers Hyderabad reach 202 for the Punjab franchise. A similar result was expected in England’s upcoming league matches. In the next series against Rajasthan Royals (RR), Bairstow was dismissed cheaply for 16 off 19 balls, followed by Chennai Super Kings (CSK) for 23 off 24 balls. The race for the playoffs looks extremely competitive, with the England wicketkeeper-batsman requiring a consistent performance from Sunrisers Hyderabad in the last few league matches. Bairstow will not benefit from Ashes’ rival Pat Cummins, who represents Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in Sunday’s league match.
Cummins scored his first half-century in the IPL during the clash against defending champions Mumbai Indians (MI) on Friday, but has not lost the magic of the ball. Chasing the target of 1 overs r, the Australian fast bowler proved ineffective against FF MI. He scored 2 runs in three overs without a wicket. While some easy batting performances will certainly be appreciated, Cummins urgently needs to make an impact on the ball and help KKR record some important wins.
The Australian fast bowler will have to put all his experience and class to play while playing Bairstow, which will soon disappoint the fast bowlers with a few quick runs. An exciting duel awaits.
