IPL 2020, RCB vs DC: AB de Villiers is the most consistent performer for RCB this season.. Twitter
Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) batsman AB de Villiers has scored for the franchise after scoring two fifties in four matches in the ongoing 1st edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). De Villiers has taken the lead as skipper Virat Kohli plays a game-changer in the series against Mumbai Indians (MI) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). The South African cricketer’s retirement from all forms of international cricket in top tournaments like the IPL has raised questions over his ability to perform. With a strike rate of 188.04 and an average of 73 and 166 runs in four matches, it is clear that de Villiers has made his presence felt and wants to do the same against Delhi Capitals (DC) on Monday. However, South Africa will face a strong enemy of Indian spinner Amit Mishra, who will bring all his experience to the fore.
Mishra took three wickets in the IPL 2020 at an economy rate of 20.20 and made his presence felt against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Saturday. The Indian cricketer dismissed KKR opener Shubhaman Gill for just 1 dism in two overs and stopped the flow of runs on the ground without much help to the bowlers.
Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) skipper David Warner and Manish Pandey were dropped.
DC captain Shreyas Iyer on Monday is optimistic that Mishra will cheat De Villiers over his changes. However, it is difficult to dismiss South Africa’s face-off as exciting.
