Mumbai Indians (MI) and Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) are found in separate halves of the points table. Mumbai are second with 12 points from eight matches, while Kings XI Punjab have won their second match of IPL 2020 in the last match but are yet to move from the bottom of the table. While most of their players in Mumbai are firing on all cylinders, the Kings XI depend on their captain KL Rahul and Mayank Agarwal for the first two. He is also at number two position in IPL 2020 so far. However, Orange Cap holder Rahul has not been able to turn his team’s fortunes around and the Kings XI will need the support of their teammates if they get a chance to top the top four.
Rohit Sharma: Skipper Rohit has played hard and cool in the IPL so far but still has two half-centuries and two fifties in eight innings. At the end of the order, Rohit’s partnership with Quinton de Kock was crucial for Mumbai’s successful run in the tournament. Despite a good return of 211 runs at an average of 11.77 and a strike rate of 1.0.05, Rohit is still not the best.
Quinton de Cock: The wicketkeeper-batsman is in red-hot form with two fifties in the last two innings. The Kolkata Knight Riders were bowled out for 78 not out, while Mumbai continued to dominate the first two matches against Delhi Capital in 53 overs. Kings XI Mumbai will be wary of the opening pair.
Jaspreet Bumrah: The pace bowler has gradually increased his role in Mumbai this IPL season. He is the leading wicket-taker with 12 wickets in eight matches at a decent economy rate of 6.62 runs per over. Equally adept at the new ball as well as in terms of death, Bumrah slowed down the bowling and maintained his teeth as a different fast bowler and pulled out the raw speed on the surface of the review.
Kings XI Punjab
KL Rahul: Rahul has piled up runs in every match and has scored 448 runs in eight centuries with an average of 44.74 with one century and four fifties. Rahul and Mayank Agarwal have given Punjab many times without a good start and this has been the biggest positive for them so far on the field.
Mayank AgarwalAgarwal has been named ‘Robin’ for Rahul’s ‘Batman’ in eight matches. At.75. Has an average of one 382 runs and has a strike rate of 111.18 with one century and two fifties. Two Karnataka batsmen have scored the most runs for Punjab this season, but the middle order outside the form has made their task even more difficult. They will watch while batting in the innings.
Mohammed Shami: Despite the bowling problems for the Kings XI, one of the regular bowlers in the wickets this season is Mohammad Shami’s veteran. Shami is the most successful bowler of Kings XI in IPL 2020 with 12 wickets for 73.7373 runs in eight overs.
