Joffra Archer bowled Prithvi Shawla in the first match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 at the Rajasthan Royals and Delhi Capital in Dubai on Wednesday and immediately broke the ‘Bihu’ dance with Rajasthan teammate Ryan Parag. A native of Guwahati in Assam, Parag celebrated the traditional Assamese dance form of Rajasthan’s victory over Sunrisers Hyderabad on Sunday and was seen mimicking a few steps in an archer dugout before the match.

Archer covered 1 k0 km. The seam-up ball was thrown at the speed of an hour. The ball bounced off the back of the show before hitting the inside of the bat and hit the middle stump.

Shaw was flapping after the dismissal – Duck on the first ball – Archer and teammates were as enthusiastic as they looked at the festivities.

Parag scored an unbeaten 422 off 2 balls and 2 with Rahul Tewatia. Formed an unbroken partnership of 45 runs and remained unbeaten till the end.

The duo defended one ball while chasing SRH’s 158 and Parag was teaching Tewatia some Bihu moves after the match.

With just six points from seven matches in IPL 2020, Rajasthan are in seventh position.


This is the second match of the IPL against Delhi in Rajasthan, while Delhi won the first match by 46 runs in Sharjah.

Rajasthan had won the IPL in 200, while Delhi had not won the trophy.
