Shimla, 13 October (IANS) The Himachal Pradesh government said on Tuesday that it would resume the interstate services of Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) on select routes from Wednesday.

Transport Minister Bikram Singh said that in the first phase, interstate bus services will be started on 25 routes. Among them are Chandigarh, Pathankot, Baddi, Hoshiarpur, Ludhiana, Ambala, Haridwar etc.

Only non-air-conditioned (non-AC) buses will run on interstate routes. Night bus services are also included in interstate bus routes.

He said that the state government has taken this decision to provide facilities to people in view of Navratras and festivals. For some time, common people have also been demanding to start interstate bus services. He said that soon interstate bus services will be started for other states as well.

The Transport Minister said that strict adherence to all guidelines will be ensured to prevent corona virus for operating buses on interstate routes.
