Shimla, 9 October (IANS). Himachal Pradesh Governor Bandaru Dattatreya and Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur have mourned the death of Union Food and Consumer Affairs Minister Ram Vilas Paswan, who died in New Delhi on Thursday.

In his condolence message, the Governor said, Ram Vilas Paswan will always be remembered for his strong commitment and valuable services rendered for the upliftment of Dalits.

He expressed his condolences to the bereaved family members and prayed to God for the peace of the departed soul.

Describing Ram Vilas Paswan as a loyal supporter of the socialist movement, the Chief Minister said that with the death of Paswan, the country has lost a leader who has always stood for the upliftment of the weaker section of the society.

The Chief Minister wished to grant peace to the departed soul from God and empowered the bereaved family members to bear this imperfect loss.

Paswan’s body reached Patna on Friday evening. He will be cremated in Patna on Saturday.
