Gehlot government gave big relief to agricultural produce markets, extended interest waiver scheme till 31 December


Jaipur. Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has decided to extend the period of ‘Interest Waiver Scheme 2019’ to 31 December 2020 for recovery of dues towards the committees, giving great relief to the traders associated with agricultural marketing in the state. Gehlot has agreed to the proposal received in this regard by the Agricultural Marketing Department in view of the Kovid-19 epidemic.

According to the proposal, a total amount of 68 crore rupees including mandi fee, allocation fee and other arrears were outstanding by the various agricultural mandis committees of the state till 30 September 2019. For the recovery of this amount, under the interest waiver scheme, 75 percent exemption was given on the deposit of the entire principal balance and 25 percent of the interest due on it till 31 March 2020.

Earlier, due to Kovid-19 epidemic, the period of amnesty scheme was extended till 30 September 2020, which has now been extended till 31 December 2020. The duration of the scheme has been extended on the demand of various trade associations. This decision will provide relief to traders of fruit and vegetable and agricultural produce markets.
