Garba will not be organized in Tapi district

Tapi district collector RJ Halani held a meeting through video conferences from various Garba mandals in the district keeping in mind other religious and social festivals including Navratri amid the Corona transition. The meeting appealed to follow the guide line of Kovid-19 during festivals and maintain social distance.

He said that during Navratri, no type of garbe, including public and sheri garba, will be organized in Tapi district. If an organizer wants to organize under the Kovid-19 guideline, prior approval from the administration will have to be taken. During Navratri, only 200 people will be able to be present with social distancing in the puja aarti by installing the idol or garba of Mataji. Aarti of Mataji can only be done. Prasad distribution is also banned. The schedule of the program is also fixed at one hour.

He has instructed to follow the government’s guide in upcoming festivals including Dussehra, Sharad Purnima, Diwali, Snehmilan of New Year. There will be ban on events like fair, rally, exhibition, Ravana Dahan, Ramlila, Shobhayatra organized on festivals. On violating this, the Collector warned against taking legal action against the organizer or related persons. District Superintendent of Police Sujata Mazumdar, Additional District Collector BB Vahonia, Vyara SDM Hitesh Joshi, Nizhar SDM Desai and other officials were present in the meeting.
