However, due to lack of bail in another case, he will have to remain in jail for the time being and he will not be released. Please tell that Lalu has completed half of his sentence in the Chaibasa Treasury case, but the Dumka Treasury case is yet to be heard.
Let me tell you that in the Chaibasa Treasury case, Lalu Yadav had applied for bail citing completion of half the sentence. After which the CBI had said in the last hearing that there is still 26 days left to complete half the sentence. After this, the hearing of the case was deferred till October 9. In this case, he has got bail today.
This is how release can happen
It is known that earlier during the hearing on September 11, the CBI opposed the bail. The CBI while filing its reply had said that Lalu has been sentenced in four cases. The punishment for all cases is different. Until the court concerned orders all the sentences to go together, the sentence will run separately. This means that in all cases, they can get bail after serving half the sentence.
