The Canadian Public Health Agency said in a statement on Friday that there were an average of 870 infected people in hospitals last week and 20 deaths per day, according to reports in Xinhua.
Chief Public Health Officer Theresa Tam on Friday urged Canadians to heed the advice of local public public officials.
Tam said in a statement, to keep Kovid-19 activity at a manageable level, particularly in areas experiencing high infection rates, restrictions or activities may be limited.
As of Saturday, a total of 193,581 cases have been reported in Canada, with 9,699 deaths.
The province of Ontario recorded 712 new cases on Friday.
The daily number of cases in the heavily populated province remained above 700 for the fifth consecutive day.
261 people have been hospitalized, out of which 67 are in ICU, 36 are put on ventilator.
Last week, the province imposed new restrictions in Ottawa, Toronto and the Peel region.
Meanwhile, the province of Quebec has 1,055 new cases and 13 more deaths.
