Guwahati. Allegations of corruption were leveled against the Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal coalition state government by Leader of Opposition in Congress Vidhan Sabha Devvrata Saikia. On Saturday, BJP’s chief spokesperson Rupam Goswami retaliated on the allegation of Devbrata Saikia and made serious allegations of corruption. In his statement, Goswami has said that the corruption prevailing in the state during the Congress rule had spread to the roots of governance. The result of which the present BJP government is suffering. Soon after taking over as Chief Minister Sonwal, strict and stringent measures have been taken on corruption. As a result, more than 70 corrupt people have reached jail after taking over as Sonowal.
Goswami said that APSC President Rakesh Pal was appointed by the Congress government as chairman. Even after the Congress Government’s APSC corruption, no action was taken. On the other hand, only after corruption was exposed in the SI recruitment process, Chief Minister Sonowal immediately announced an inquiry and arrested the accused and initiated immediate action against them. The present government is working on a policy of zero tolerance against corruption. He said that various Congress leaders and activists were involved in corruption and every leader has earned crores of rupees from corruption. Congress leaders and activists had grabbed crores of rupees in the name of various departments of the government like Agriculture Department, Social Welfare Department, Forest Department, Flood Assistance Rupees, Food Department, Fake Ration Card, Job Card.
Sonowal has completed the recruitment process with transparency in every department. Roopam Goswami has said that now BJP corruption is being suspected. However, all corruption belongs to the rule of the Congress Government, through this, the Congress is making a blatant charge of corruption to confuse the people.
