IPL 2020: Bhuvneshwar Kumar injured during match against CSK.BCCI / IPL
Hyderabad fast bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar has been ruled out of the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) due to a hip injury sustained in Friday’s match against Chennai Super Kings at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. Speaking to ANI, team sources confirmed that the injured fast bowler will have to skip the cash-rich league.
“Bhuvi will not be able to take part in this year’s tournament because he is out with a hip injury. Leading the bowling and being an integral part of the leadership group is a big shock. “Ground,” the source said.
Bhuvneshwar was injured and came off the field in the 1st over. He tried bowling and the physio had to decide that he didn’t have to take part in the game and he had to go in his direction twice before he took part in it again.
Speaking after the game, captain David Warner had said that since he was on the field I had little idea of the severity of the injury and would have to be examined by a physio. “I’m not sure I’m going to have to talk to a physio who can answer this question when we have more information,” Warner told a news conference after the match.
In the next match against Mumbai Indians on Sunday, Warner had said that the fast bowler seemed to have lost two games. He is an integral part of India’s plans for the series against Australia after the IPL, but will not miss the season due to a hip injury.
Australia will then play a full series against Australia, followed by a four-match Test series and a limited overs series. Initially, Virat Kohli and the boys were scheduled to start the T20 series with an eye on the T20 World Cup, but the plan was scrapped due to a postponement of the coronavirus epidemic.
