Discom this time investigated consumers whose connections were previously cut due to theft or non-payment of bills. The corporation investigated over 24 thousand premises. Light was found burning at 3 thousand 876 places. A fine of Rs 3.54 crore was imposed on these consumers. Ajmer Discom Managing Director VS Bhati said that the teams of DISCOM carried out a special campaign for two days to check the connections where the connections were disconnected for some reason in the past. Investigation of such premises found lightning at many places. Some of these consumers were found to be illegally stealing electricity, while at some places it was found to take a connection with a new name. Now action is being taken against all of them.

The corporation investigated 24 thousand 267 premises in two days. 604 of them were caught illegally stealing electricity. Similarly, 3 thousand 272 consumers took the connection under the new name. The corporation took action in its 11 district areas and imposed a fine of 3.54 crore.
