Accused husband and mother-in-law arrested after Seema’s murder

Baghpat On Friday, the police arrested the deceased’s husband, mother-in-law, on charges of killing the married woman Seema, who lives in Nawada village of Balaini police station area. The maternal side had filed a complaint in the police station alleging that the dowry greed has killed the daughter. Sumit Yadav, who lives in village Nawada, admitted 30-year-old wife Seema to a private hospital in Meerut on October 5. He died during treatment. Father Ramveer Singh, a resident of village Sarai in Hathras district, who arrived after receiving the news of the daughter’s death, accused the son-in-law and his family of killing the daughter.

He told that daughter Seema was married to Sumit Yadav on 12 May 2015. Daughter Seema was brutally beaten by her in-laws for not getting twenty lakh rupees in dowry. This is the reason his daughter Seema died. He had filed a case against Seema’s husband Sumit Yadav and mother-in-law Santosh Devi at Balaini police station. He escaped leaving the accused house.

On Friday, absconded Sumit and his mother came to collect the goods from the house, when the police arrested them.
In this case, Balaini police station in-charge Naresh Kumar says that the two arrested accused were produced in the court from where they have been sent to jail under judicial custody.
