35 shops burnt to ashes in fire, loss of crores

Assam. In Tupamari of Nagarbera in Kamrup district, there has been a huge panic due to the horrific fire in the early hours of Friday. During the horrific fire in Tupamari government market, 35 shops were completely burnt to ashes. A study center, a Permanent Public Welfare Committee office and a truck were completely gutted during the fire. The fire in the market was so catastrophic that many shops around it have also suffered heavy losses.

As soon as the news of the fire was received, the team of firefighters reached the spot and with the help of the locals got involved in overcoming the fire. During the fire, property worth about two crore has been damaged. However, information about how the fire started has not been established. Police have expressed apprehension that the fire may have occurred due to the short circuit. Local people have accused the fire department of not reaching on time. Police is investigating the matter by registering an FIR in this regard.
